Create & Design Your Own Cards for the Holidays

Hello everyone, it’s Mona Toth here, and I am super excited to share my guest design post featuring the brand-new Sweet Stamp Shop release! Winter is my favorite season, and I absolutely fell in love with the Marshmallow Holiday stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop – so I made two cards using the stamp set, as well as a fun bonus card! 🙂 The stamp set is super easy to use, and the images and colors were so cute and just perfect for the holiday season.

The first thing I did on the first project was ink blending. I used the Tumbled Glass and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks.

The next step was stamping, coloring, and fussy-cutting. I added some wording to the background and used a bunch of tiny Marshmallows from this set, simply because they are so cute! For these colors, I used my Copic Markers (colors: W1, W3, W5, R20, BG0000). The last step was adhering the images to my card.

I used the Chocolate Mug from the same stamp set for my second card, which featured fun party marshmallows and vibrant pink coloring. I can’t get enough of this set: serious cuteness overload, especially for the holidays!

First, I crafted the background using Washi Tape and Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink. I then cut a 3,5×4,75″ red cardstock, heat-embossed the sentiment using White Embossing powder, and sprayed it with White Ink.

The next step was stamping and coloring using my Copic Markers  (colors: R24, R27, R29, 0, W1, W3, W5, W7 and E55, E57, E44, E42 for the cocoa). For the final touches, I made highlights with Signo Uniball White Pigment Pen and used Glossy Accents for the clear icing. Finally, I adhered everything together, and just like that, the card was finished! These stamp sets make DIY projects a breeze, and it’s fun to customize each one using my own extra flair.

As promised I am going to show you a bonus card that I made with the super cute Flying Squirrel stamp set. I think this is a perfect fall-themed stamp – I love the colors and the fun design, especially the falling leaves!

I used Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Inks for this particular card, and Copic Markers for the coloring: Squirrel – W01, W03, E42, E43, Y23, Y26, Y28, E55, E57 E59 R20; Leaves – Y11, Y13, Y15, Y19, YR17 RV52, RV55, RV66. The Squirrels are super adorable, and they make a fabulous birthday card!

Thank you for reading my post! I hope my creations have inspired you to make your own fun holiday cards at home. I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity to be a guest!  If you like my creations please feel free to follow me on Instagram. 🙂

Hugs, Mona

Create an Adorable Card With This Easy to Use Card Making Starter Kit

Hello again, sweet crafters! This is Ashlea and I’m back today to show you a cute card I created using Sweet Stamp Shop’s Card Making Starter Kit! The card I created was made using the PDF’s included when you purchase the kit. The PDF’s come with explicit instructions on how to use the products included in the kit. The kit also comes with lots of coloring pages and A2 sized card fronts decorated with Sweet Stamp Shop designed images–like these donuts!

Print/Cut Out Images and Color with Pencil

After I printed the page with this design on it, I trimmed the design down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and colored all of the donut images with colored pencil. I didn’t do any shading as I wanted the colors to be bold and flat, almost as if it were printed in color.

Stamp Birthday Sentiment on to Black Cardstock

I wanted an embossed sentiment, so I used the “Wish Big” sentiment from the Birthday Sentiments Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink on a piece of black cardstock and embossed it with fluorescent pink embossing powder to pull in the colors of the patterned card front. I adhered this piece to the center of the patterned card front with foam tape to add dimension.

Create a Mat for the Card Front

To make the pink even more dominant on the card, I used a piece of 4″x 5 1/4″ colored card stock that was very close in color to the embossing powder and using it as a mat for the card front. I adhered the card front in the center of the colored cardstock and then adhered all of that together to an A2 sized card base. Finally, I added some Rhubarb Crumble Nuvo drops to the corners of the sentiment block for some added interest and dimension.

I hope this has inspired you to create using the PDF’s included in your card making kit. I love that all of these beautiful images and patterns are included and can be used as coloring practice or for cards again and again. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I’ll see you soon!

Make a Fun and Simple Card using Stamps

Hey Sweets! It’s Ashlea here and I am beyond excited to share one of my favorite-ever stamp sets with you! It’s one of the newest releases from Sweet Stamp Shop and it’s called “Watch Television”. While it’s not holiday themed stamp set, it’s definitely something I think we all can agree is worth celebrating… Binge-watching!

Create a Storyline

For this card, I decided to use the stamp image of the couch with the girls eating popcorn. I then also used the rear of the TV to give the illusion that the girls were watching the TV. I really love the way this set is designed so that you can use the images together to create a story like this, separately or on their own.

Blend Color with Markers on to Card Stock

Next, I started with a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of 110lb card stock. To give the “glow” of the TV, I first decided where the TV would go and then blended Limoncello ink by Catherine Pooler which is a very light yet vibrant yellow. I blended from where the TV would be placed and diagonally up to the left in more of a sweeping motion. To drive home the feel of streams on light, I used Copic markers in Y15 and BG10 in the same sweeping motion as before.

Create a Dimension with Foam Tape

After having my design for the scene planned and underway, I started adhering my cut out and colored images to the card front. I glued the couch so that when I used foam tape with the TV it would give lots of dimension and interest to the scene.

Ink Stamp Cute Sentiments

Finally, for the sentiment I used the “Spoiler Alert” stamp (how COOL is the font for this, by the way?!) I lined it up in my MISTI to make sure it was straight and inked it up in Versafine Onyx Black ink. To accompany the sentiment, I used “you’re amazing” underneath Spoiler Alert. To finalize this (and make it an actual card) I adhered it to an A2 sized card base.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed learning a bit about how I created the scene for this card using the new Watch Television stamp set. The images here create so many DIY possibilities and I can’t wait to see what you create with yours! Thank you, again, for stopping by! I’ll see you very soon!

How to Make a Simple Halloween Dia De Los Muertos Card

Hey there, sweets! This is Ashlea and I’m super excited to show off some of the newest Sweet Stamp Shop releases with you. I don’t know about you but I am definitely happy it’s Fall. The cool air and the excitement that comes with Halloween when my kids get a bit giddy and there’s a little spooky-ness in the air. This new release from Sweet Stamp Shop has some great stamps to create projects for this holiday season and help to express that spooky/fun feeling.

Stamp Sugar Skull Stamp to Black Cardstock

For this card, I decided to use the Dia De Los Muertos stamp set mixed with a sentiment from the Squad Ghouls stamp set. To begin, I stamped the large sugar skull image onto a piece of black cardstock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Next, I fussy cut it out and set it aside to use on my card front later.

Stamp 3 Rose Images on White Cardstock

I then stamped the rose image three times on a piece of white cardstock using Copic-Safe Momento Tuxedo Black ink and used a purple, yellow, and pink marker to color the three in. Then I fussy cut them out and arranged them onto the skull as a headdress. The skull with a floral headdress is a very common image and costume used for Dia de Los Muertos so I thought it would be a good choice as the star of this card. I also love that it combines beauty and color with a spooky feel.

Cut Cardstock to 3 ¾” x 5 ½”

Once I had my image complete, I cut a piece of 110lb white cardstock to 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″. This is the same length as an A2 sized card base but quite a bit thinner. I did this so that I could use a piece of black and white striped patterned paper behind the card front panel to peek out on either side.

Adhere Sentiment to Card with Foam Tape

That patterned paper is cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and then all of that then adheres with foam tape to an A2 sized card base. For a sentiment, I used the “I put a spell on you” stamp from the Squad Ghouls set. To finish it off, I decided to add just a few small drops of Crystal Nuvo Drops in Rhubarb around the skull.

I hope that you have enjoyed learning a little bit about how I created this Dia De Los Muertos card! I plan to send it to a friend’s kids as a spooky hello from my kids! Thank you so much for stopping by today! I’ll see you very soon.

A Card Making Stamp Starter Kit a Beginner Will Absolutely Love

Hi there, Sweet crafters! It’s Ashlea and I’m very excited to be sharing a project using Sweet Stamp Shop’s new Card Maker Starter Kit. This kit comes with everything needed to start your card making hobby.

To make your life even simpler, I’ve also created this video to show you what comes in the kit and how I used the items to create a cute and simple card.

I’m a stamper at heart, so I knew straight away I’d be using the adorable bunny stamp set that comes in the kit. This set has some super cute images along with a wide range of sentiments that can be used for so many different occasions. Having a stamp set that can be used over and over again is an absolute must in card making. It will quickly become your go-to.

The stamp set also includes some small, solid, shape stamps that I love using to create background patterns and embellish the card fronts. I used them here to create a focal point on the lower right-hand side of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ sized card front.

Stamp Circle Shapes Close Together and Then Far Apart

First, I started by stamping the circle shapes close together and concentrated in one area and then carried the stamps up and to the left by stamping them more sporadically and farther apart. This makes the pattern appear as a trail the tapers off the top left-hand corner of the card front.

Stamp Bunny and Sentiments on 110lb Cardstock

I just love the image of the bunny ears poking out of the hat and knew that I wanted to use that image along with the “I’m Embarrassed” sentiment because I thought it would look really sweet together. I stamped the image on a piece of scrap 110lb cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black ink which comes included in the kit.

Color Bunny With Copic Markers

Next, I used Copic Markers to color in the image and then fussy cut the image out. (This just means I cut it out with scissors rather than using a coordinating die). I then stamped the sentiment on black cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. This is my go-to for adding sentiments to card front but you could, of course, simple stamp the sentiment onto the card front itself.

Place Bunny Image on Card with Foam Tape

To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the bunny image and sentiment strip to the lower right corner of the card just over the pattern, I stamped with the small shape images. After making my A2 sized card base, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Belated Birthday” inside to go along with the “I’m Embarrassed” sentiment on the front.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed learning a bit about how I created this card using the Card Making Kit. Thank you for stopping by! I’ll see you very soon!
